Caregiver

Caregiver assists patients with their daily activities, from either domestic task to completing errands, Caregivers serves as the companion of the patient or client. Caregivers prepare meals and shopping for grocery and other essentials, they help in managing the medication and they provide care in all settings, including stay in at the client or patient home, to group homes and day service programs. 

What is the function of a Caregiver:

Caregivers are personal care aides, they usually work in their clients homes  and these Caregivers help their client with their daily activities which includes, assisting in bathing, all kinds of house work, meal preparation for the client. Caregivers do care for their clients who needs personal assistance for whatever medical reason, like disability, illness or advance health. These professionals are very vital to the clients and does important role in taking care of their client day and night.

What are the skills and qualifications of a Caregiver:

Caregivers are highly skilled in mostly variety of work. They are well trained, focused and requires specialized knowledge and skills, they can not work in multi task but they could schedule their routine in a smooth and valued time. they have the unique qualifications. Such as,

  • Ability to be flexible and organized
  • They could managed their time efficiently
  • Ability to take care of their clients needs
  • They remain calm and handle any emergencies that may arise on their client

  • They are trained to work in specialized field of care of every patient ,such as Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, MAB patients as well.

What are the training and educational requirements of a Caregiver:

 
Caregivers minimum educational requirement is High School graduate. Caregivers undergo short term and job training. They are trained in every area of specialties. 
 

What are the minimum work experience required for the Caregiver:

 
For clients or patients that needs exceptional care a minimum of three year experience is required, and for the entry level Caregivers they are most assigned to work in a more stable and light patient or client.
 

What are Salary Expectations of a Caregiver:

The salary varies based on client or patient needs and experience of the caregiver. It ranges between $15 – $20 per hour.
